There are so many uses for old secured personal loans, and the chances are you will be able to get one quickly and easily. It’s a common idea that only homeowners can get loans from finance companies. That just isn’t true, most people can apply for, and receive an unsecured personal all kinds of uses. You can get loans from a few hundred pounds, up to £25,000, unsecured. These loans can be used to buy a new car, a holiday abroad, a new kitchen, the latest cell phone available, or just about anything

That can only be determined by the school you are attending. They have guidelines they use to calculate your expences.
You can usually reduce your loan amounts per semester/quarter, but you cannot increase them.

I’m assuming you’re in the UK since you don’t actually say where you are in the question, the max student loan for the 07/08 academic loan is £4510. So, again I’m assuming you are entitled to this much, since the last £1000 or so is dependent on your parents income, the most you will get on April 7th will be just over 1/3 of this (it is not split evenly over the 3 payment dates, and the highest payment is the last one), so around £1500 is what you will be getting if you can get the maximum.

All this will have been on a statement that the student loan company sent you before this academic year started. Next time it might be wise to keep hold of it.
